4/02: IMPORTANT MEETING!
WHEN: Monday, April 6th at 2:30 p.m.
WHERE: City Hall, Board of Supervisors Chambers, room 250 (at the top of the main stairs)
WHAT: City Operations and Neighborhood Services committee hearing on Bay to Breakers.
The beginning of the hearing will be reports from city departments and the race sponsors, and a chance for the Supervisors to ask them questions. After that, is a period of public comment, where anyone can speak for up to 3 minutes. Our estimate is that this will start around 3 or 3:30, and probably last for an hour or more.
3/06: Please visit our blog to see the latest updates and leave your comments. Your voices will help preserve Bay to Breakers.
2/28: Progress has been made. All "zero tolerance" language has been lifted after our meeting with city officials and organizers. Read about where we are now.
2/27: We have been invited to a meeting today at City Hall called by the Mayor's office. The participants will be us, race organizers and city officials. We are planning to work out the remaining issues related to the Zero-Tolerance restrictions. Our goal is the lifting of all restrictions. Stay tuned.

2/25: Yesterday, Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi introduced a resolution to the Board of Supervisors in support of our cause. The motion will be voted at Tuesday's meeting. The mayor's press secretary indicated they were working on a "compromise" to be announced in the next week or two.
2/24: Talks with race officials stalled. We are boycotting all race registration until further notice. We are calling for runners and non-runners to unite in this effort.
2/23: Stay tuned for the outcome of our meeting with race organizers today...
2/22: Further meetings with race organizers tomorrow, as they have had time to consider our position and proposals from our Thursday meeting. So far, this has been an honest and collaborative effort with significant common ground between all parties. There is an ISCOTT (city departments) meeting this Thursday at 9:00 AM where they approve or deny the permit for the event. We expect to come to resolution tomorrow or at least before this permitting meeting. If nothing firm develops on Monday, we will encourage all of you to attend this public meeting and let your voices be heard.
2/20: Please show your support of Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi as the one city official who has publicly supported our efforts! (415) 554-7630 Ross.Mirkarimi@sfgov.org
